Your account

• 16Word is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live (16 in Luxembourg), use 16Word with a parent’s or guardian’s agreement.
• Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account.

Plans and payments

• Every account starts on the free plan. Paid plans and their prices are shown on the Plans page; prices include applicable VAT.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. On the web you cancel in Account; in the apps through your Apple or Google account. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Using 16Word fairly

• Use 16Word for your own learning. Do not copy, scrape or resell its content, interfere with the service, or misuse other learners’ data (for example on the leaderboards).
• The 16Word name, interface, learning system and datasets belong to NEXURA SARL-S or are used under licence; third-party recordings keep their own licences (see Audio credits).

Your voice recordings (website)

When you answer with the microphone on the website, we keep the recording of your final attempt for each item — whether it was right or wrong — together with the answer it was for. The same applies when you tap “Say it aloud”. We use these recordings only to improve the quality of 16Word, in particular our own speech recognition and pronunciation checking. They are stored privately, linked to a random speaker code rather than to your name or email, never played to other learners, never published and never sold.

This is switched on when you accept these terms. You can switch it off at any time, and listen to and delete any or all of your recordings, in Account → My voice recordings; deleting your account deletes them too. Nothing is recorded unless you press the microphone or “Say it aloud”. The iOS and Android apps do not keep your voice.

Availability and liability

• We work to keep 16Word available and accurate, but it is provided as a learning aid: we cannot guarantee that it is always available, error-free, or that you will pass a particular exam.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

Changes and law

• If we change these terms materially, we will ask you to accept the new version in the app.
• These terms are governed by Luxembourg law. As a consumer you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
